Matt Saucedo Band
Matt Saucedo credits his father Carmen Saucedo with igniting his passion for music and performing. In his early teen years, Matt played drums and sang while his father jammed away on guitar in a band that performed at small festivals, weddings, taverns and social clubs. The style of music ranged from the 1940's standards on up through the current hits. Matt picked up on his father's professionalism and showmanship, later he drew from Carmen's influence and adapted it into his own.

Matt Saucedo emerged into the Midwest blues scene as a 21 year old drummer and lead vocalist. He began his solo music career with a three piece band named "The Deaf White Cats." They performed at local clubs in and around Milwaukee, Kenosha, Racine and Chicago, IL.

In 1998 a lifelong friend, mentor and guitar phenom, Jeff Jacob convinced Matt to join his hard rocking blues/funk band, "Jeff Jacob and The Resentments." They performed at a higher level than Matt had ever experienced. He performed with Jeff until 1999 and eventually returned as a Resentment later in 2000.

The experience of being a Resentment fostered the evolution of Matt's style and image. Now, as a guitarist, his playing encompasses a unique combination of acoustic rock and funk. He formed the band "Common Project" after leaving as a Resentment to concentrate on song writing. For Matt, this was the next piece of the puzzle in giving life to his song writing skills. "Common Project" toured festivals such as Milwaukee's Summerfest, Racine, WI Harborfest, Twin Lakes, WI Festivals and other small venues.

Unfortunately for "Common Project" they separated just one day before signing with a record label out of Boulder, CO. Although the band separated, Matt took his song writing skills into the studio to complete his first solo album of original material which became "The Matt Saucedo Band - Reliable Source" Once in the studio he utilized his talents, and tracked vocals, guitars, drums and bass.

After his success with "Reliable Source" Matt performed as a solo act in order to focus on his stage presence and lead guitar solos. After a three year absence Matt returned to the studio to record his latest album, "Destination(s)" which was released in January of 2008. "Destination(s)" is another compilation of all original works and again showcases Matt tracking guitars, bass, drums and vocals.

Once the "Destination(s)" era began, Matt turned to a friend and colleague, Daryl Beese, to play guitar and to assist him in returning to the stage with a live band. On board with Matt and Daryl, Matt Staller joined in as their drummer. Matt became acquainted with Staller through his college alma mater, being that Matt continues to work as a band director and Staller was drumming for the college band.

As a three piece the Matt Saucedo Band began playing locally throughout the North Chicago and Grayslake area. Performing as a three piece band had it's positives. Matt, Staller and Daryl grew close as friends and performers and began setting future goals. One of their main goals was to add a new drummer, which would allow Staller to return to his main instrument: lead guitar.

Through local contacts and friends, Daryl was able to bring in an unbelievably talented drummer by the name of John Eggan. John meshed quickly to the bands style and continues to create an atmosphere of excitement, pushing each practice and performance to a new level.
